Finding Your Way
How can you find your way when you’re not sure which way to go? On any big adventure, any amazing adventure worth taking, you will need something to find your path. In history, before technology was what it has become, sailors used the stars to navigate by. Later came maps.
A handy addition to this was the legend down in the corner of the map. It gives you the lay of the land. It showed you where your travels would be easy and when you were going to be climbing mountains. Then came a magical device called a compass. It really came in handy on those long journeys, to help figure out which direction you were heading in.
A wonderful person (thank you James Gardiner) recently shared with me the idea of creating my own compass (of sorts) to help guide me. After all, if you are searching for your Meaning In Life, it would be very helpful to have something that keeps you on the path. Something that will help unlock your Super Powers and find your best life and that will support your expression of that.
A compass and its 4 points can help lead the way, even when things become unclear. In this case, our compass points represent what we hold most dear to us. Qualities or standards that you must have in your life.
Things that you can measure and guide your decisions by to get you where you want to go, even when you aren’t exactly sure where that is. I thought about what these 4 points would be for me for quite a while. After all, how do I even know what I really value?
What I realized is that most of us do know our truth because when we hear it spoken, we feel it in our bodies and our spirit. Just as we know when something doesn’t resonate with us. Other questions I asked myself were what do I want in my life?
Who do I want to be? After all, to have this new life we must become that version of ourselves that is capable of expressing those qualities. And I thought about other factors are important to me like what do I truly value? what inspires me? What brings me joy (yes being happy is very important)? The 4 points on your compass are meant to help you find the best answers and learn what you truly desire. Instead of relying on other people or social media to influence your decisions and create your life for you.
This magic compass is a way to tune into your deepest desires and hear what your heart truly wants. No one else can know those answers other than you. Here are the 4 points that I have come up with for my compass: Freedom, Alignment, Alchemy, and Nurture. What do these words mean to me and how is this going to help me find my way?
Please come back and visit me later this week to find out. I would love to learn what 4 points you come up with. What does your heart say when you ask it what truly matters to you?
You can leave me a comment on Facebook at Finding Meaning In Life or on Instagram at find_ingmeaninginlife. I want to make this a place where we inspire each other so please feel free to share what inspires you.
